If you have to get up to pee all the time, then you are also doing your “get up and move every hour” thing.
If you have to get up and pee all the time it can be a symptom of sleep apnea or diabetes. I used to wake up like every hour for the bathroom and they finally diagnosed me with sleep apnea. Now i have a cpap machine that forces air into me while i sleep and i don't wake up during the night at all, it's great. So yeah you're technically right but it can be a bad sign
I actually started drinking a lot of water when I started working a 9-6 job in the office.
When I get sleepy, I get water.
When I go to the bathroom, I also get water.
When I get a snack, I get water.
Water goes with everything. :P

i’m glad you touched on mental/ emotional health during this. it’s very important
Mildly useful information thanks to my psychiatrist: When you're sleeping, you're supposed to go through 5-6 sleep cycles every night in order to have a good nights rest (approximately 7-9 hours). Sleep cycles last approximately 90 minutes each, and the best time to wake up is in-between those 90 minute cycles, because that's basically when your brain is like "Okay, is it time to wake up or should we start another cycle?" and so if you wake up in that short span of time, you're going to be more awake and alert. You're waking up when your brain is in a higher state of consciousness and alertness and is actually ready to start the day.
If you wake up *during* a sleep cycle, you're waking up when your brain is in the middle of a deep sleep, so you're going to be more groggy and grumpy and take longer to become alert and awake and ready for the day because you're coming out of that deep sleep.
TL;DR: An hour and a half (90 minutes) is one sleep cycle, and you need at least 5 or 6 of those every night.
thats actually VERY useful information!! i can function on practically any amount of sleep, but my main issue is that i usually need a very long time after i wake up to ACTUALLY wake up, and i cant figure out why. so i might try to like, count ?? before i set my alarm to wake up in between cycles and that might help i guess, instead of just trying to get as much sleep as i can. idk tbh, id just like to be less pissed off at the fact that i had to wake up when i wake up lmao
